Kick Ranch

We are very excited about the Sauvignon Blanc from this vineyard, in the rolling hills in Rincon Valley, east of Santa Rosa. Though cooler than other Sauvignon Blanc regions, the rocky soils, southern exposure and long hang time combine to produce Sauvignon Blanc of distinctive varietal character, with great floral and citrus notes.

Lower vigor rootstocks such as 5BB, and limited water, help to contain Sauvignon's Blanc vigor, resulting in balanced vines with more sun exposure than one normally finds in this variety. The name of the vineyard comes from the first names of the owners Kathy and Dick Keenan. Equally exceptional Syrah and Petit Sirah from this young vineyard are produced by Rosenblum Cellars. Ulises hopes to make a 100% vineyard designate Sauvignon Blanc from this vineyard in future vintages.
