2007 "BOTTICELLI" ZINFANDEL-ROCKPILE
Located high above the Dry Creek Valley and Lake Sonoma, along the rocky ridgeline, Zinfandel struggles to grow in the long steady growing season of the Rockpile AVA. The vineyards of Rockpile produce wines that are not just about intense, ripe and exotic fruit, but of a place: a taste of mineral, a taste of sun. The additional time on the vines, the rocky shallow soils, the wind and lack of fog, forces the vines to produce highly intense fruit with low yields, creating a very exotic fruit forward wine with balanced intensity and the Valdez Family passion for the vineyards.
