2007 Sauvignon Blanc, Kick Ranch, Sonoma County
We are very excited about the Sauvignon Blanc from this vineyard, in the rolling hills in Rincon Valley, east of Santa Rosa. Though cooler than other Sauvignon Blanc regions, the rocky soils, southern exposure and long hang time combine to produce Sauvignon Blanc of distinctive varietal character, with great floral and citrus notes.
Lower vigor rootstocks such as 5BB, and limited water, help to contain Sauvignon's Blanc vigor, resulting in balanced vines with more sun exposure than one normally finds in this variety. The name of the vineyard comes from the first names of the owners Kathy and Dick Keenan.
Availability-The 2007 VFW Sauvignon Blanc is available directly from the winery or can be found in select restaurants and fine wine merchants in the Bay Area.

Wonderfully pure, up-front fruit flavors of tangerine, peach, nectarine, melon and passion fruit are ripe and
smooth, with a poignant acidity that details the juiciness and notes of spice, mineral and slate. Drink now
through 2012. 398 cases made. -MW
